Client Case Study: C.R. England Lowers Preventable Accident Rate

C.R. Englang

C.R. England is one of the nation’s leading companies specializing in temperature-controlled transportation products. For more than 85 years, the name C.R. England has stood for high quality transportation services to a growing list of satisfied, prestigious customers.

As part of Chad England's continual quest for tools that help their fleet operate safer, he contracted for Qualcomm’s PPS Program (a private label version of the FleetRisk Advisor’s Program). The project kicked off on March 6, 2007 and within 4 weeks, new sleep training was occurring. Within 3 months, fatigue scores were being produced and delivered.  On November 4, 2007 C.R. England went live with the entire program. The results to the left are six months results.

The C.R. England Program consists of three primary components:

  • Fatigue Management – consisting of sleep training and human alertness modeling
  • CR England Chart
  • Driver Performance – a predictive model that scores drivers on their likelihood of having an
    accident
  • Data Aggregation and Analytics –data from C.R. England is aggregated into TRAC™ (includes operational, vehicle, telematics, eLogs, HR, and accident and service failure data). This data is used as input to the two components above, and to measure the effectiveness of the programs. Having all the data in one relational database enables analysis that  produces previously undiscovered insight into their business.
